Southeastern Retina Associates’s Dr. Larzo Serves Patients in Zimbabwe
Every person, regardless of where they live in the world, deserves proper retinal care. Recently, our own Dr. Cris Larzo, one of our Tri-Cities physicians, traveled to Zimbabwe to treat patients with various retinal conditions. His trip was enabled by the group, Eye Care to the Needy. This group was founded by Dr. Steve and Jane Beaty, who have served the people of Zimbabwe and southern Africa for over 30 years. Their mission is to provide highly specialized eye care to the underserved population of southern Zimbabwe and surrounding areas. By inviting ophthalmology subspecialists from all over the world they provide care to needy patients as well as train local physicians in their subspecialty.
Dr. Larzo hopes to continue visiting to further serve and recruit similar physicians from around the country and world to do so.
