Biography

Dr. Wang earned dual bachelor’s degrees in biochemistry & cell biology and psychology from Rice University before receiving his medical degree from the Texas A&M College of Medicine. He completed an internal medicine internship and an ophthalmology residency at Penn State College of Medicine, followed by a fellowship in vitreoretinal surgery at The Retina Institute in St. Louis, Missouri.

Dr. Wang is passionate about advancing the field of vitreoretinal medicine and surgery. Throughout his training and career, he has been actively involved in retinal research and clinical trials. He has authored more than 20 peer-reviewed publications, presented his work at national and international conferences, and served as an investigator in clinical trials evaluating emerging treatments for retinal diseases. His research has earned multiple awards and recognition, including honors from the American Society of Retina Specialists and the Vit-Buckle Society.

Dr. Wang will be caring for patients across East Tennessee and North Georgia. He is committed to providing compassionate, individualized care while incorporating the latest advances in the medical and surgical treatment of retinal conditions.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Wang enjoys spending time with his wife and children, hiking, and roasting coffee.
